Customise Items
Instead of throwing items away or letting them gather dust, why don’t you customise them instead? You can easily cut the sleeves off a t-shirt to make a trendy vest. You could even cut the legs off your jeans to make a unique pair of shorts! There are so many things you can do to make things more summery. Just check out YouTube for some fun tutorials.
Boots with a Pretty Dress
Boots are the ultimate winter fashion staple. I love wearing them with tights, leggings, jeans...just about anything! However, you don’t need to pack them away when the sun finally shows itself. You can just pair them with a pretty dress. I love how it adds a tough look to a floral pattern, especially when the temperature allows you to wear a leather jacket too.

An Oversized Sweater
The oversized sweater is a great winter warmer, but if you style it properly it won’t look out of place in summer. I always see tanned girls with beach waves on Instagram rocking an oversized number with a little pair of denim shorts or a skirt. You can do the same! I’d probably go for a neutral coloured knit from Aran Sweaters Direct, but you can use anything you have to hand. If you want to go for an effortless ‘I just don’t care’ look, then this is the outfit for you!
A Checked Shirt
A checked shirt always looks fab in winter with jeans, boots, a coat, beanie hat etc. However, it can easily be transitioned through to summer. In fact, there are a ton of ways you can wear it. Wear it over a t-shirt or vest top unbuttoned. Wear wrapped around your waist. Tie it so you show off a little of your abdomen. Or just wear it with your shorts as you normally would. Every girl should have one of these, no matter what time of year it is.
Silk Scarves
Silk scarves are more of a fashion item anyway, but there are different ways you can wear them in summer. Try using them as a hair accessory, or even as a belt! If you don’t want to do that, you can wrap it around your bag to make a trendy bag charm. This is a fab accessory to have, but I make sure I have some of these accessories to go along with it!
Buy Smart
Before you buy anything, ask yourself if you’ll be able to wear it a variety of different ways. Will it last? Will it go with a lot of your other items? If so, treat yourself. Just make sure this isn’t something you’re only going to wear once!
