Fashion | How the Selfie Is Changing Fashion

If you are anything like me, you probably love taking a whole host of selfies. Whether you are on your own or with your friends on a night out, it’s always nice to capture the moment. Let’s face it, if you look amazing, you want the world to know about it! The world of selfie-taking has changed, however. Years ago, you’d snap and go in the mirror. But, with selfie sticks, photo editing and haute couture advertising their wares via the medium of Instagram, it seems that the selfie-world has changed. But, it’s changed for the better.

The selfie has changed fashion tenfold.

Selfie was added to the dictionary, which pretty much sums up how much the world of fashion is changing. Fashion bloggers have long been posting selfies. Their outfits and their whole look are depicted for the world to see. Selfies have changed fashion because now bloggers are less focussing on their words and more on their look. But, even big name stores and big name designers are keen to get in on the action. Karl Lagerfeld is now offering ladies the chances to take selfies in the changing rooms of his Regent Street store. Aside from offering fantastic fashion, he also gives women internet enabled iPads so that they can start taking pictures of their new ensemble. All of this is linked up to Facebook and Twitter, so our friends can also tell us how they like our look.

Technology as a whole is changing the world of fashion. With more selfie editing advice available than ever before, we can make sure that we are making the right kinds of purchases. But, we can also display our awesome new look to other like-minded fashionistas. It’s all about making the right choices and getting feedback about our look. With careful planning and consideration, we can choose the rights outfits that hit all of the right style notes.

Burberry has also taken on this kind of technology too. But, they have included a digital runway nail bar in their stores.  So, if you are the type of person who only sticks to one shade (I’m a huge fan of animal prints and transfers) you can see what colours suit you the most. It’s a great way to make sure that you are making the right purchase. After all, Burberry and Chanel don’t come cheap. So, you want to make sure that you are making the right purchase for the price that you are paying!

More and more ladies are keen to get their selfie on. After all, what could be better than taking an amazing photo and getting hundreds of likes on your Instagram and Facebook accounts? Now, the world of digital photography is changing. With subtle edits and the chance to reach out to hundreds and thousands of like-minded women, you can see if your outfit is a hit or not.

What’s your selfie style? Do you like to share your killer new shoes with social media? And, are you a fan of editing? After all, Kim and Beyonce aren’t the only ones that can look amazing all of the time!
