BEAUTY | Hugo Boss Boss Orange Fragrance Womens Review

I'm not sure if this is weird, or odd, but Hubs and I often end up with ‘His and Her’ fragrances. It all started when my mum bought us the His and Her Jean Paul Gaultier fragrances as a gift, we then went on to the Paco Rabanne Millionaire range and more recently Boss Orange.

While Hubs has been a Hugo Boss wearer for many years, I've always seen the brands fragrances as very masculine. Last year he got me the Boss Orange Sunset perfume, which I love and found to be a great summer fragrance, but I had never worn or tried the standard Boss Orange Womens EDT.
Reading about the fragrance, it has Vanilla and olive tree Base notes. This really surprises me because usually I think that Vanilla is too sweet for a fragrance, but in the case of Boss Orange this is not true. The Vanilla is in no way over powering and it is complimented beautifully by White flowers and Sandalwood. The initial scent that I notice is the apple which is delightfully fresh.

It also says that the fragrance “captures today's urban, natural and modern woman” which explains why I feel just as confident wearing this perfume when I'm out with my friends, as I do in meetings with clients. I find that when I wear Boss Orange I get great compliments throughout the day, making it easy to wear – this may sound odd to say, but scent can be a really individual thing. A great example is Angel by Thierry Mugler – I love it and know loads of people that do, but Hubs isn't too keen and my Dad, who is usually oblivious to smells, hates it.

When it comes to Boss Orange for Men, it is definitely one of my favourite scents on Hubs, along with Chanel Bleu. I love catching a surprise whiff of it when he gives me a hug after work, or while I'm cooking. If you want to see what Hubs thinks of it he’s written his own fragrance review.

COMPETITION | Scentsy Giveaway

Doodle Bum* the plate is from the Jadestone warmer, as Sega had a bit of an accident and broke the actual one.

The lovely Fiona Parry lent me one of her Scentsy Doodle Bud warmer to try. I hadn't heard of Scentsy before, but they have a whole range of scented products. The idea behind the brand is that they replace scented candles.

You place one or two of the scent cubes on the tray, plug it in and the heat melts the cubes down and they burn for hours.

They have a huge range of different style burners, so there is one suitable for any decor. They also sell Scentsy buddies, which are soft toys that you can pop your favorite scent in to it for your kids, as well as a range of solid perfume fragrances that you can just rub on your wrist.

They have a large collection os scents too! I tried the 'Echo' scent from the Scentsy Mans range and it is lovely. It's got spicy notes with a subtle hint of citrus. I sometimes get headaches from scented candles, but was completely fine with the Scentsy burner.

I definitely have my eye on some of the other warmers especially from the Silhouette Collection.

Fiona has also very kindly given me a Jadestone warmer along with a 'My Dear Watson' scent pack and the new 'Eliven' scent to giveaway. You can enter below.

BEAUTY | New Fragrance Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia

I was literally saying to my boyfriend the other day that I was running out of perfume, I usually have about 4 or 5 bottles of perfume on the go but they are all running low. Yesterday I got home from work to find that my amazing (hopefully one day) mother-in-law bought me this perfume.

My normal perfumes are:

Givenchy Very Irresistible
Paco Rabanne Lady Millionaire
Thierry Mugler Angel
Jean Paul Gaultier

The Acqua di Gioia perfume smells divine, i'm not great at describing smells so i'll tell you how it's described.
A beautiful fresh floral fragrance ideal for the warm season.

Top notes: Crushed Mint leaves, Limone Primo Fiore, Acquatic Green Accord.
Heart notes: Pink Pepper, Jasmine Sambac Abs, Peony.
Base notes: Cedarwood, Labdanum and brown sugar accord.

It makes me thing of a warm night on holiday in Spain (my usual destination). What I also love is that the perfume is a glitter storm in a bottle. I wish i could capture it in the pictures, just shake it and the spray has amazing iridescent swirls. It retails at about £39.00 for 30ml.
