The biggest decision that you’ll make for your big day will be where it will be hosted, so you may feel a lot of pressure to make the right choice. 1. How Much Will It Cost? 

The first thing you need to do when you begin planning your wedding is determining your budget. How much money are you planning on spending in total, and how much of that total do you plan on putting towards your venue? Venues that don’t provide the catering may be more affordable, but you’ll need to consider the cost of a separate catering company if you take that route. On the other hand, if you opt for a venue that provides all of the food, drinks, and even your cake, you might save in the end. To look for various options, compare pricing, and to locate the best deals.

2. Will the Venue Accommodate Your Guests Comfortably? 

Early in the wedding planning process, you should take some time to come up with a tentative guest list. This will give you a good idea of just how many people are likely to be in attendance on your big day, and will provide you with another guide to use when searching for the ideal venue. A venue that won’t be able to comfortably fit all of your guests and give them room to socialise and dance simply won’t be sufficient. On the other hand, if your guest list is too small for a venue, they may not even want to book your event unless you pay for people who won’t be there just to meet the minimum.

Yet another thing you need to consider is the location of your venue, even if you aren’t planning a destination wedding. You want the venue to be easy to reach for all of your guests, and there should also be ample parking available.

4. Can You Customise the Menu? 

A venue that provides you with the catering for your guests to party the night away should be able to accommodate your needs, whether you want a Kosher meal, a vegan meal, or any other special menu. If a venue can’t accommodate your requests, keep searching for one that will.

5. The Style of the Venue

Every wedding venue has its own unique vibe and décor. When you are thinking about booking a venue, go see it in person. Take a tour and look at the room that your ceremony and/or reception would take place in. If you don’t like the style of the venue or it will clash with your wedding’s theme and style, you may want to keep looking for the ideal fit. If you keep the above things in mind, you are sure to find the right wedding venue in no time.

For some of us ladies, the ultimate dream is to have a fantastic wedding day. It's right about now (in our late twenties) when some of the people around us start to get serious about marriage. If you are one of those people, you might be wondering how to make your wedding day special. You don't want a bland ceremony that everyone forgets. You want to plan an incredible day that your guests will talk about for years to come.

Get the ultimate dress 

Let's talk about the most important thing first - the dress. It is crucial that you find the perfect dress so that you can walk down that aisle looking amazing. If you want to do something special, you can get a bespoke piece from a tailor. Gather lots of photos of dresses that you like (flick through some wedding magazines for ideas), and take them to a tailor. He or she can use them to make the ideal dress for you.

Choose a unique venue 

Of course, you can book a wedding in a traditional venue, such as a church, but why not go for something a little different? Most venues will offer a wedding service, and so you have your pick of thousands of places throughout the country. You might want to pick a place that is meaningful to you and your husband-to-be. For example, you could host your wedding in the same place you had your first date.  We got married at my family villa - which is where we took our first holiday together very early in our relationship (2 weeks) with our friends.


Break the boundaries 

If you hire a wedding planner, they will try to take control of every aspect of your wedding. You don't want that, and you don't need it either. Instead, you should make all the big decisions when it comes to your wedding. Ignore what people tell you - this day is your wedding day, and so you get to call all the shots.

Hire music (that you love)

Everybody knows that you need a band for your wedding reception, but what type of band will you choose? Much of the time, people pick music because they think that it will please everyone. Hiring a band who play bland love ballads is not the right thing to do for your wedding. You should get someone who plays music that you and your partner like. For example, if you love rock music, why not hire a local rock band? This tip might sound risky, but it will pay off.

We like a lot of rock and metal songs, which we knew would not get people on the dancefloor - instead we found String Quartet covers of our favorite songs and played them while everyone had drinks after the ceremony.

Get awesome photography 

You want everybody to remember your wedding day for the rest of their lives. These days, there is a trend of having some fun when it comes to your photography. You can get your photographer to come up with some awesome ideas for your wedding day photo shoot. You should also ask him or her to experiment a little when it comes to wedding photo editing. If your prints are 100% individual, you will find that they attract a whole lot of attention. Look for an expert photographer who shares your wedding vision.

Surprise people at the reception

If you want to make sure that everybody talks about the reception, you need to surprise people. You might want to plan a fantastic dance routine or have a special guest turn up to give a speech. Think about ways you can impress people at the reception. If you can think of something incredible, you can make it a reality.

LIFESTYLE | Weekly Portrait #6 Birthday Edition

Today is my 27th birthday, although in my head I feel a hell of a lot younger! As I was at my friends wedding last night I am feeling a little bit hungover so today Joe and I are having one of our epic Sunday roast and watching movies all day :) Don't worry I am going to celebrate my birthday next Saturday!

The wedding was absolutely beautiful and the bride looked amazing, like a mermaid. It was really rustic and chic, the venue was superb and the food was amazing too!

Anyway I need my movie fix! Have a lovely day.

FASHION | My Wedding Outfit

      Black leopard trimmed curvalicious bodycon dress

After months of worrying I have finally found a dress I can comfortably wear to my friends wedding. I set myself a weight target for the wedding and I'm only a couple of lbs off!

The dress is from the Star by Julien McDonald range at Debenhams and is really me! I'm known for being a leopard print wearer so this is perfect! It's 'classy' leopard print so I'm not risking rocking Kat Slater chic by accident!

Also it has covered my chest with out closing it up, I have to be careful with necklines as high ones can be very unflattering! The dress is also designed with curvy girls in mind so really compliments my shape!

I'm going to team with my nude Russell and Bromley sling backs or my black New Look wedges and flesh coloured tights. I think I'll be very light on the jewellery to avoid looking trashy.
Make up wise I'll go very simple with cats eye eyeliner, and a nude lip. I'm thinking 50s inspired hair, so pin curls and waves like Fearne Cottons hair in the pick above. Will post a picture for you from the day.
