Summer is coming sooner than you know. We have had some beautiful days already, which is a sure sign that this summer is going to be scorching. I thought it was about time I wrote a post about summer fashion trends as I am about to start buying some of the essentials. This year, there will be loads of new trends, and a couple that we have seen before now. If you want to look ultra chic this year, you need to hit the shops. Here is a guide to your must have items.

Khaki shirt 

Khaki was all over the catwalks recently, and so it is something that you want to include in your wardrobe. Without going full on Private Ryan, you need to get just a few items that will compliment your current look. I have already seen quite a few khaki tops on the high street as well as the odd shirt. If you get a khaki shirt for the summertime, you can pair it with some cute black shorts for a casual, yet cool outfit.

Vintage floral dress

I love all things vintage so, of course, I want to get a new floral dress for summer 2015. Shirt style dresses are en vogue right now, and they are pretty easy to get. If you head down to any vintage shop, you will find a whole host of stunning vintage dresses. Choose one with a petite floral design so that it looks sophisticated and elegant. When it comes to the cut of the dress, you want one that tapers just below the chest to give you the ultimate feminine silhouette.

Summer style bag 

You can tell a whole lot about a woman by what bag she carries. During the summer, you will need a large bag so that you can go on many adventures and picnics. Spend some time finding the right piece for you that will last you throughout the summer.

Suede shoes 

Another major trend of 2015 is suede. Again, this look can overpower an outfit if you get it wrong. Suede shoes look incredible with almost any outfit, though, and so you should treat yourself to a brand new pair. Don't stick boring brown shoes; choose a bold colour and show the world that you are confident enough to be different. If your look is unique, you will always be stylish.

Sporty skirts 

Tennis skirts are gorgeous, but why should sporty people have all the fun? High street stores have begun to sell sporty style skirts this season, and so you should take advantage of it while it lasts. You can wear a simple sports skirt with almost anything during the summer. Choose a neutral colour, such as white, black or grey so that you can wear the trend all season long.

Bowler hat

You might have noticed some people rocking this trend already, but there is still time to jump on the bandwagon. For a long time, only men wore bowler hats, but now that is all about to change. Most major fashion retailers now sell women's bowler hats in time for the summer season. You can pair a hat like this one with almost any outfit for a chic and sophisticated look. Changing your look for the summer period can be a lot of fun. Don't be afraid to try out some new looks and experiment with your sense of style.
