FASHION | A broken promise is as good as a lie| Wishlist #5

Weekly Wishlist #5

Black short sleeve shirt / Topshop high waisted skinny jeans / Office chunky lace up booties / Chanel quilted handbag / Comme des Garçons comme des garcons hat / Jassen, £120 / Amethyst Stone Bracelet £20 / Infinity Bracelet By Hot Crown

It's been a while since I have done a clothing wishlist - I'm not to great at doing regular post it would appear! This week it was announced that Slipknot and Korn are touring the UK. today tickets went on sale and no doubt were going in minutes if not seconds.

Although, I have only ever seen Korn at a festival, I have had the honour of seeing Slipknot at the Brighton Centre in 2002. I loved every second of it, but looking back at the photos, I really don't know what I was thinking when I got dressed! It's fair to say that my style has evolved with age. I'm hoping to take Joe to see Slipknot and Korn and with this in mind and my terrible fashion faux pas from the last gig, I decided to to do a wish list for the gig.

I've stuck to black mainly, black is a rock staple. I am loving the Topshop Joni ripped jeans, they are high waisted so will hold me in and the rips aren't too extreme. I've teamed it with this basic logo tee - because let's face it, who hasn't wanted to be a unicorn!

I am loving wool coats at the moment too and this one here. is perfect for keeping me warm if we go bar hoping before or on our way back to the train station. As for the ankle boots, the heel looks comfortable and would I really be embodying rock icons like Courtney Love, Tarrie B or Brody Dalle without a single bit of leopard print?

Young 2002 me would have shunned this beautiful Chanel bag, but being grungy doesn't mean you have to be drab, in many ways it is about the attitude as much as the clothes.

When you think about your younger years are there any outfits or trends you just cringe when you think about?

FASHION | Hurleys.co.uk Wishlist

Hurleys.co.uk

Wildfox pink purse / Buy Boss Orange Womens White & Black Esperae Top at Hurleys / Buy Mink Pink Womens Multi Combi Garden Kimono at Hurleys / Buy Ted Baker Womens Black Laccy Shorts At Hurleys / Buy Ted Baker Brogue Notebook in Fluro Pink at Hurleys

This week I stumbled across Hurleys.co.uk. This discovery will inevitably be fatal to my bank balance, but my summer wardrobe is in urgent need of a top up! Hurleys has been around since 1955, when the family owned business opened it's first store in Manchester. It now has stores in Bolton and Wigan, and the brand is recognised as the leading independent branded fashion retailer for the whole family in the North West.

While Hurleys is a very established brand in the North West of England, here in the South East there are no stores. Now that I am aware of Hurleys' website, I can see why the brand is so popular as it stocks a great collection of fashion brands including Toms, Wildfox, Ted Baker and almost famous.

I've created a wishlist that obviously is reflecting my brains need for a holiday, as without realising I have chosen very summery holidayish items!

FASHION | Light it up, like we're the stars of the human race: Weekly Wishlist #3

Weekly Wishlist 3

I have been wanting a Penny Nickel skateboard for ages now, I love riding Hubs' Penny cruiser and now the weather is picking up I think the Nickel would be great to travel to work on. They are shaped like old skool 70s decks that would have been ridden by skateboarding grandfathers like Tony Alva and Stacey Peralta.

In order to ride the new skateboard, I would need totally awesome shoes, like these beautiful Nike Dunks - at uni I started to build a collection of dunks but, later sold them as they can be quite valuable, but now I totally regret selling them. I'd also need these awesome socks by Stance.

The inspiration for the trousers and the bag actually came from SophieRoseHearts blog post filled with tropical prints, as I become braver I hope to be rocking loads of colourful prints and move away from my go to black!

The check shirt, lets face it is a bit of a wardrobe essential, it can be teamed with demin shorts or worn over a dress. I did have one, but it got too big and I gave it away. I also like the casual tank top, it would look really nice with the Liberty Blue Dr Denim jeans I just bought!

What are you lusting after?

FASHION | Oh I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker With Flowers In My Hair: Weekly Wishlist #2

Weekly Wishlist 2

This week I have been dreaming of festivals and outdoor gigs (Mainly Black Sabbath / SoundGarden / Faith No More in Hyde Park). After a few months of being really awful at dieting and fitness, I think I am back in the right frame of mind (possibly due to my Lighter Life Fast Trial) and I am hoping to exceed my wedding weight loss and look fantastic in this dress. I'm really conscious of my arms so added this cardigan as well - would be a great add on for summer evening BBQ anyway as it's lightweight.

I get a lot of comments about the Cats Eye Sunglasses I already own, but I love this red pair, I think they are a real statement piece that could Jazz up any casual summer outfit.

As for the flower headband I think that the blog post title explains it all. When I was a punk rocker I often wore flowers in my hair, it was one of my 'things' (I also went through a stage of drawing a mole on my cheek with liquid eyeliner so not sure if style tips from my teens is the way forward!).

I'm a sucker for small quilted Chanel-esque bags and I think this one in Mint completely embodies Summer! I'm loving Mint as a colour, but not sure if I am brave enough to wear the colour yet (still sticking to black and greys). Finally, I am loving simple, thing rings at the moment!

What's on your wishlist?

FASHION | Merry Christmas Everyone

Christmas Day Outfit - Wishlist

Zoe karssen printed sweatshirt, £49 / Current/Elliott skinny leg jeans, £165 / Suede ankle booties / Burberry handbag / NARS Cosmetics , £16 / Christopher Radko Candy Claus Santa Ornament, £34 / Too Late to be Nice? Sign :: Christmas Signs :: Christmas :: For the..., £16

I've got an obsession with red skinny jeans at the moment, maybe it's the festive season! Hopefully Santa will bring me a pair of my very own! This is the sort of thing I'll be wearing on Christmas, comfy but colorful, although I might not feel so comfortable in my skinny jeans after lunch!

I think when I have my own family, I will declare Christmas day as a onsie day! That way we can just lounge about all comfy and warm! Sipping mulled wine and hot chocolate!

Anyway, I am at work today (probably typing away as this goes live!) and then going to the pub afterwards with my OH and friends. Tomorrow I'm spending the day with my rather large family and on boxing day I am going to my future parents in law, which will be lovely.

I just want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of you who subscribe or read my blog, I do this primarily as a hobby so to know that people enjoy what I write is lovely. Have a fabulous Christmas and a fantastic New Year.

FASHION | AX Paris - July Outfit

1.Double Front Zip Satchel

2. Oval Brush Cuff

3. Cross Strap Platform Wedges

I made an outfit for the ASOS £100 Blogger Challenge and found it quite enjoyable, so I decided to do more outfit post. This is my July outfit from AX Paris. I've really got into their clothes lately, I think mainly because I can probably actually get into their normal range now! I'd definitely wear this to work with a nice cream blazer or dress it up for drinks with a leather biker jacket.

This summer my aim is to wear dresses without leggings, as hopefully I will be slim enough and confident enough to pull it off! But it doesn't really matter unless the weather clears up! Apparently the Jet Stream is moving so we should be due a bit of nice weather *finger crossed*

Let me know what you think.
