HUBS| #MCM Styling with New Look

Jeans - Krew/ T-shirt *- New Look / Harrington Jacket - SABBC (Old) / Boots - Red Wing
I don't think I've ever done a male fashion post before! Joe generally buys a his clothes from smaller street wear brands that he discovers on Instagram, he also loves skate-wear and hats. He's hat crazy!

For this post, Joe got to have a mini spend up with New Look, among them was this Breaking Bad T-shirt and a pair of skater socks. Joe loves Breaking Bad, so I was not really that surprised when it arrived. Once we finally started watching it, we went through all seasons in a few weeks. He loves Heisenberg - whereas I hate him, but there is no need to go there right now...

A lot of Joe's styling comes from various different source. He loosely follows high street trends, but is also inspired by punk, skate brands and bands. He's styled his T-shirt with a burgundy Harrington jacket, black skinny jeans and lace up leather boots. Let's not forget his Brixton Chapter Fedora.

FASHION | It's Blowing A Storm Outfit Of The Day

Grey Tights - Calvin Klein / Scarf - Primark (old) / Shoes - Topshop (old) / Charm Bracelet - Jeremy Hoye /
Necklace - Accesorize (old)  / Double Finger Ring -  H&M (old)

When Hubs has the weekend off, one of our favorite things to do is to have a walk through Hove and along the seafront. The morning had been a bit miserable, but had brightened up when we decided to head out. It was really windy, and I manage to keep my hat on for a whole five minutes before it had to go in my bag!

As always we grabbed a coffee from Small Batch, which is an independent Brighton Coffee chain that has really made is mark in the area. Their coffee is divine, and the shops are achingly cool. They also have people serving Coffee in portable bars at Brighton and Hove stations in the morning!

Despite battling the wind we managed to make it to the sea, to walk along for a bit, before Hubs noticed it was raining in the distance, and we decided to head back. Luckily we were not to far away from home when it started absolutely pouring it down.

FASHION | Valentines Lingerie look

Valentines Lingerie look

It's coming up to that time of year again where love is in the air, and the age old gift question is brought up. Is buying lingerie self gifting, or is it a legitimate gift for your partner/love interest? Well, to be honest who cares? Rocking lingerie I feel sexy in is a real confidence boost and lets face it confidence = sexy.

There are so many looks that you can go for depending  on what you feel comfortable in. For example if you are conscious of your tummy area  you can go for a babydoll like this one from Curvy Kate who cater for D-K cups.

A big trend in lingerie at the moment are lace bralets, the one above is from New Looks lingerie
range. I would love to wear this type of underwear, but I know realistically that my boobs need more support.

Also from New Look is the longline bra, which is another look that I am really loving at the moment, and this one I might actually be able to get way with! Having always had a larger bust, I usually find that it can be hard to find affordable bras in my size as I expressed here, however when I was looking at the New Look range I did see that they are now stocking up to an F cup.

Another option is the body, again although I love this look, like with the bralets, there is just not enough support for me to getaway with comfortably, but I have noticed that this look is quite popular.

I also like the idea of stockings, they just are a lovely touch to glam up your lingerie look. I personally prefer hold ups to suspenders. I just feel that suspenders can be a bit fiddly.

What lingerie do you feel most confident in?

FASHION | January Wish List

January Wish List

Khaki jacket, £29.99 / NIKE leather footwear £120/ Lipsy crossbody satchel, £45 / Lindsey Scarf in Spacial, £69.95 / Dead Lovers Panther Leggings, £28 / Criminal Damage Ballin Beanie, £19.99 / By Boe Stack Ring in Silver, £15.95 / Floral Skirt $10.47

I am suffering from the January Blues, so thought I would compile a wish list to cheer me up. Like most people at this time of year, my bank account is looking a bit sad too, but while I may not be able to go out and purchase these items, it does not stop me wanting them or window shopping.

My love of Nike Dunks is returning and I really regret selling my collection, although none of them were as beautiful as these. I've also been reminiscing about my misspent youth recently and while I feel purchasing a pair of big baggy Criminal Damage jeans at my age is definitely out of the questions, I am very much feeling this 'Ballin'' beanie.

I've also fallen in love with these Panther leggings (although not sure if my thighs could really ever look good in these) as well as this gorgeous Galaxy scarf - I'm still not over galaxy print, but I am yet to actually own any! I'm also yearning for an Army print jacket, I think they are a nice casual addition to any outfit. The floral skirt is cute and I think a lovely way to bring a bit of colour into any winter wardrobe.

But I think my favourite pieces are the stacking rings and the Lipsy bag. I love the shape of  the rings, they are so unusual.

What would you have on your January wish list?

FASHION | My Autumn Wish List 2013 - Just in case you want to treat me ;)

So since my return from Spain, it feels like we could be in the midst of Autumn and I am dreaming of a nice warm wardrobe. I'm not a big fashion over function person, I'd rather not have cold toes and be comfortable.

Anyway, I've been browsing loads of websites and have been compiling a list of bits I want. Some items, let's say, are more of an unrealistic dream - note the bright pink Gucci high tops! Others are more practical for cold winters in Brighton, like the Equi Theme Verona Long Riding Boots.

I've also got the long line biker jacket from the Kelly Brook range at New Look on my list. The reason for this is that I have wanted a leather biker jacket for ages, but most of them come up too short on my body and look awful on me. I'm hoping that this one will be more flattering.

To add a bit of colour to my Autumn wish list I also picked out the Wild Fox t-shirt and the Galaxy print jumper - both of which have a neckline that will suit my shape. I can't wear certain necklines because of my body shape and boobs - I end up looking like I have a mono boob.

Finally we have the accesories. No wishlist is complete without accesories so I have added a burgandy snuggly snood and cute kitty face hat because I love cats and in the winter need an excuse to smile. Last but not least the stunning unicorn ring which I added because I just thinkit is awesome.

What are your Autumn essentials?

FASHION | Summer Retro Beachwear

g
summer retro beachwear by lillaloves featuring rimmel

Rare London maxi dress / Rimmel Red Lipstick - Kate Moss / Vintage Sunglasses/ Panache, Savannah Padded Underwired Bandeau Swimsuit
I'm already dreaming about my week in Spain for my wedding in September. I've lost a bit of weight and hope to lose more so have been eyeing swimwear and poolside dresses.

This retro purple Bandeau swimsuit is one of the hottest styles from Panache’s swim collection this year - normally I'd shy away from strapless, but this has under wiring so there will be plenty of support.
I've teamed it with this lovely tie die cut out maxi dress by Rare London. I'm not usually a big fan of tie die, but I like this blend of colours and it has such a summery and funky feel to it. I can see myself by the bar at Sala Beach, sipping on a cocktail in this outfit.

I am also a BIG fan on cats eye sunglasses so when I saw these vintage Playboy sunglasses I fell in love all over again. The final thing to add to this look is the red Rimmel lipstick, because nothing brings a vintage look together like statement red lips!Have you started thinking of your summer wardrobe yet?

FASHION | S/S 13 Statement Accesories

S/S 13 Statement Accesories

S/S 13 Statement Accesories

fedora hat / Sunglasses / Fendi Scarf,   Radley Bag

S/S 13 Statement Print Accesorries

Alexander Wang , £185 / Kenzo hat, £45 / Ted Baker , £30 / Spun by Subtle Luxury , £22 / Floral sunglasses, £21 / Radley London | Print Bags

My favorite trends for Spring/Summer 2013 are Monochrome and Statement prints so I thought I would write a post looking at some accessories that would help bring the looks together.

I know technically that monochrome can be any combination of black and white, but in my mind I always think of clean cut, tailored and professional. The trend reminds me of a classic Chanel suit, or the iconic Breakfast At Tiffany's outfit worn by Audrey Hepburn. It makes me think of driving an old convertible wearing white leather driving gloves, as such I couldn't help but put a black and white scarf and some black statement sunglasses on my monochrome board! The bag I chose is both suitable for work, but also practical and big enough for day to day use. I also have a fedora fetish at the moment, so whats better than a white straw fedora with a chunky black stripe?

As for the print accessories, we all know I am a sucker for leopard print, so the shoes and the hat are a go to for me. The shoes are perfect to add some print to any outfit. The snapback hat,  I'd wear it when I go out skateboarding with the guys! It would look amazing with a 90's inspired bomber jacket.

I'm a big fan of Ted Baker phone cases, and this floral print is so lovely and feminine, making it perfect for summer. I also liked the floral print on the sunglasses. As for the bag, I love the dog print and the contrast of the orange details with the black and white print really make it interesting. I chose the scarf, just because scarves are a day to day must have for me to liven up any outfit.

What are your key summer trends?

FASHION | Avenue32 Wish List - New Designer Handbag Obsession

Avenue32 Wishlist - New Designer Handbag Obsession

Calvin Klein Collection green handbag / 3.1 Phillip Lim black shoulder bag, / 3.1 Phillip Lim summer handbag

I've never really had a proper browse on Avenue 32. The website is filled with beautiful designer brands such as Calvin Klein, Boudicca and Lara Bohinc. They sell a large collection of fashion and accessories as well as designer bags, which as you can probably tell is the inspiration for my post.

I'm a lover of designer bags, I can't help it, it's genetic my mum is a bag lover too! There are some absolutely stunning bags on the website, but I have managed to cut my wish list down to the three pictured above.

The Calvin Klein Green Ostrich Cross Body Bag immediately caught my eye, I love the Ostrich texture/pattern, although to be honest I'd prefer faux-ostrich. I really love the green moss colour too, this bag really reminds me of a bag my grandma had when I was younger.

The other two bags are by 3.1 Phillip Lim, a brand who I haven't really heard of so was quite surprised that I kept choosing his bags as I was trying to make up my wish list.

The Pashli Satchel is definitely my favourite of the three, I like the colour, the tonal stitching and the shape of the bag, especially the two side pockets with the zip details. It's a lovely twist on the classic satchel and I can really see myself using it as my 'work' bag.

The Convertible Vendetta bag is a great multi function bag, it can be a wrist bag or a shoulder bag. The lovely classic rounded shape and the black colour makes it a great staple for any wardrobe!

Which is your favourite?

LIFESTYLE | What I Got For Christmas

Happy (belated) Christmas and New Year! OK so I know Christmas was a while ago now, but I've been busy stuffing my face and haven't blogged yet. I thought I'd just put up this quick post to show how lucky I've been. This isn't everything I was gifted, just some highlights.

PLEASE note the Micheal Kors watch that I blogged about is in there! I was truly not expecting it as I thought it was a lot to ask, but my sister was on a mission to make Christmas special so arranged for it to happen and her and my other sister chipped in and got me the beautiful matching bracelet too!

What was your favorite Christmas present?

FASHION | Merry Christmas Everyone

Christmas Day Outfit - Wishlist

Zoe karssen printed sweatshirt, £49 / Current/Elliott skinny leg jeans, £165 / Suede ankle booties / Burberry handbag / NARS Cosmetics , £16 / Christopher Radko Candy Claus Santa Ornament, £34 / Too Late to be Nice? Sign :: Christmas Signs :: Christmas :: For the..., £16

I've got an obsession with red skinny jeans at the moment, maybe it's the festive season! Hopefully Santa will bring me a pair of my very own! This is the sort of thing I'll be wearing on Christmas, comfy but colorful, although I might not feel so comfortable in my skinny jeans after lunch!

I think when I have my own family, I will declare Christmas day as a onsie day! That way we can just lounge about all comfy and warm! Sipping mulled wine and hot chocolate!

Anyway, I am at work today (probably typing away as this goes live!) and then going to the pub afterwards with my OH and friends. Tomorrow I'm spending the day with my rather large family and on boxing day I am going to my future parents in law, which will be lovely.

I just want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of you who subscribe or read my blog, I do this primarily as a hobby so to know that people enjoy what I write is lovely. Have a fabulous Christmas and a fantastic New Year.

FASHION | Christmas Party Wishlist

If any time of the year gives you an excuse for sparkles it is Christmas. In general I don't wear sparkles, I'm not a dressy up sort of girl, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy getting dolled up. I'm really loving Skater dresses at the moment, I think that they really really flatter my shape.

I've teamed the cocktail dress with a studded leather biker jacket to give the out fit a bit of edge, also because I am dying to get my hands on decent biker jacket that will fit me nicely.

For shoes I decided to go for wedged boots, I'm really rubbish at heels, but wedges are a great way to get long legs and height without compromising on comfort, or in my case the ability to walk! These wedged ankle boots will even support drunken stumbling me!

I hope you like the look, what are you going to be wearing this Christmas?

8. THOMAS SABO Charm Club White Pearl Bracelet

Autumn/ Winter 2013 for me is about spikes, embellishments and detail. What I love about this outfit is that it is glamorous but casual. You could wear it to work without the faux fur jacket and then transform it into a night look with the jacket, to go for drinks with the girls.

I am a big fan of studs and spikes, so I love this ring and the studded shoes. I also love the statement cuff and ring.

Clothes wise, I know disco pants are huge, and although I personally couldn't wear them or the shirt, I think they are bang on for A/W13.

FASHION | Love Struck Clothing Collection

Daria - Sage

Gina Top

Amanda

Available at Topshop and at www.lovestruckclothing.co.uk ,  Lovestruck showcases a  collection of pretty vintage inspired dresses  and tops in feminine florals and on-trend pastel tones- perfect for summer parties to festivals.

The whole collection is absolutely lovely, I'm tempted to ware the Daria dress to my friends wedding next month, it's absolutely lovely. The Gina top would also be a lovely way to jazz up my day to day wear - I wouldn't have dared ware it before, but I'm trying new things. I'd love to wear this top with some 7/8th jeans and heels for a casual night look!

The collection is very 50s inspires and I love the quirky pattern on the Amanda dress, there are also some other dresses on the website that are very Mad Men with full skirts and halternecks. I definitely recommend giving it a look and there are a lot of brilliant items in the sale.

FASHION | Selectspecs £6 Prescription Glasses

I've needed glasses for a while now, my prescription is minuscule but when i'm driving at night or watching TV in the evening I notice that things are blurry. Unfortunately glasses aren't exactly cheap and considering that I don't need to wear them all the time it's quite a big investment.

In the past my boyfriend said that I should just buy some cheap ones but I was very reluctant as they are flimsy and limited styles, and let face it you don't want to wear glasses that look horrific.

Selectspecs prescription glasses start at £6 which is crazy cheap, so when they offered me some to review I jumped at the chance! I choose the Savannah glasses in Black because they are the closest to the Wayfarer style that I like. When they arrived I was really surprised that they came with a hard case and a cleaning cloth! But even more surprising was the quality of the glasses.

I was expecting flimsy, light, fragile frames, and whilst they aren't exactly heavy, I'm not worried about them snapping or breaking easily. The frames are slightly rubbery which gives the frames a nice matte appearance.

When I was browsing the website I was surprised by how competitive the designer sunglasses and frames are in comparison to other high street shops! Not to mention that they also have launched the following discount codes that are valid until 23rd April:

10% off Optical Frames and Sunglasses when you spend over £15 on optical frames or designer sunglasses.- Promo Code: 10shop
15% off Complete Prescription Glasses when you spend over £100 on Prescription Glasses. - Promo Code: 15shop
20% off Complete Prescription Glasses when you spend over £200 on Prescription Glasses.- Promo Code: 20shop
20% off Individual Brands – Optical Frames only.  Promo Code: 20brands
20% off the following big name brands – Tom Ford, TOD’s, Oakley, Ray-Ban, Chopard, Zegna, Rodenstock, Roberto Cavalli, Jimmy Choo, and Nike.
Selectspecs are about to open its first actual shop in Kent on 23rd April, to celebrate they are running 2 competitions to win a pair of Ray-Ban Aviators or Police Sunglasses.

HAIR | Could you do #30daysnoheat?

I will start by explaining to you how badly I have abused my hair in the last 26 years.

Image:Dano

My hair has been every colour of the rainbow... and more, which when you have dark hair means a lot of peroxide. I also have been blowdrying, straightening and curling my hair after every wash for most of my life. Consequently my hair resembles straw. The day after washing my hair the roots are greasy and my ends knotty and uncontrollable. My hair is thinning and lifeless.

I have got to the point in my life where I need to look after my hair otherwise in another 5 years I might not have any! As a response to the fear of being bald at 30 I came up with the idea of shunning heat styling for 30 days to give my hair a break. This will also give me the chance to explore different hair styles and techniques so I don't need to use heat as frequently in the future.

In the last month I have already made some changes to my hair care routine, firstly I now have a hair care routine, rather than lather rinse repeat.
My first change was my hairbrush. I have gone natural, that is to say my brush has natural bristles, which  helps promote growth and shine. The natural bristles help distribute the natural oils from the roots to the tips. I also changed my shampoo to a clarifying shampoo to wash away any build up and then use moisturising conditioner. I then follow this up with an olive based hair oil on the ends.

As a result my hair last longer between washes and the ends of my hair no longer look like straw. My hair is better, but by no means healthy. I want shinny, glossy and stylish hair and hopefully #30daysnoheat will help.

So do you think you could go 30 days without your GHDs? why not join me?

Also if you have any hairstyles or tips that could help me get through these 30 days without compromising on style please either comment below or tweet me @LillaJade with #30daynoheat
